The purpose of this project was to increase traffic capacity as the existing bridge was too narrow, and offered very little in the way of pedestrian or bicycle traffic.
Our part in the project was the bridge's demolition.
A floor-saw was used to divide the bridge in liftable sections.
Plasma torches were used to bisect steel girders running the length of the bridge, allowing large sections to be removed.
Core drilling was conducted in order to fasten a sling to the sawn elements.
